National criminal background checks

Most of our national criminal background checks are instant or within 1 business day, providing a significant advantage over older methods. However, some courts do not provide instant access to their records. 96% of all national criminal background reports will complete within 4 business days. Please know that in some cases it is possible for a search to take longer than 4 business days, depending on the particular court system.

The time for these will vary depending on the service chosen and where your applicant lives. For details on turnaround times and costs by state, please see our court schedule.

If we do not provide a report instantly, we will e-mail you when it is done. You can also check on your report status at any time in My Reports.

In some circumstances, court delays beyond our control will affect all background check companies dealing with that court. In that case we will provide details to you as we get them in My Reports.
